Advanced Dermaplaning

Dermaplaning, similar to microdermabrasion, is an excellent and safe procedure for exfoliating the epidermis and ridding the skin of dead skin cells and fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). Light, feathering strokes over the surface of the facial skin mechanically removes the top layer of dead skin cells, debris, and fine hair, smoothing the skin for a silky feel. Advanced Dermaplaning takes this removal of dead skin one step further.

Once dermaplaning is performed, products, such as superficial peels and even Retin-A, are applied to the newly smoothed skin to penetrate more readily into the deeper layers. This allows the products or peels to be more effective and increases the likelihood of a good result. We will also frequently perform a dermaplaning procedure prior to our Deep Pore Cleansing Facial (another example of advanced dermaplaning).
