What is a PRP Facelift?
Platelets and associated proteins are rich in growth factors that promote cell replication, regulate normal cell metabolism, produce new collagen bundles, enhance blood vessel growth and create an environment of healing and repair in the treated area. Treating the aging or sun damaged face with PRP injections increases the amount of collagen in the face as well as helping the facial skin and soft tissue act and look more youthful.
On its own, PRP only provides a small amount of volume. Because of its collagen stimulating characteristic, we commonly combine these with other collagen stimulating modalities such as Sculptra, Bellafill, fat injections, CO2 laser, and microneedling to maximize collagen production. Traditionally, the PRP facelift is combined with a hyaluronic acid to improve skin quality and add volume.
What is PRP? How does it work?
PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) comes from your own blood. Platelets contain granules that contain multiple growth factors. These growth factors can attract stem cells to the area of treatment resulting in improved blood flow, new collagen formation, and an environment of healing that can rejuvenate the facial skin.
What should I expect from a PRP Facelift?
A PRP facelift will improve skin glow, turgor and tone at the same time as adding volume. It makes the skin brighter, tighter, and firmer. PRP, or Platelet Rich Plasma, helps to repair damaged skin so works well with treatment of sun damage, scars, and aging skin.
